AirAsia will resume flights between Kuala Lumpur-Pattaya – its ninth route between Malaysia and Thailand.
From June 17, AirAsia Malaysia will operate three weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Pattaya
“We are pleased to announce the resumption of services to the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, providing the only direct connectivity from Kuala Lumpur to the city,” said Bo Lingam, Group CEO, AirAsia Aviation Group. “This addition to our vast network in Thailand underscores our continued commitment to making travel more accessible to second tier cities such as Pattaya.”
Lingam added the airline group served 2.7 million passengers between Malaysia and Thailand. Prior to the pandemic in 2019, 60,000 travelers flew with the carrier between Kuala Lumpur and Pattaya.
The resumption of the Kuala Lumpur-Pattaya route is the ninth between Thailand and Malaysia. AirAsia operates flights from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang to both of Bangkok's airports – Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi – Krabi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hatyai.
